Hello everyone!
It is a glorious month for new reveals. Earlier Mashable.com revealed the remainder of the LEGO Jurassic World sets, as well as a good look at the new Owen Grady Minifigure. I think the new Owen is pretty good. The torso looks great, but I still maintain that the hairpiece doesn't fit. I think that the new 'stache is a bit different, but it's not bad.

The Pteranadon Esacpe is a bit of a let down. The similarly named Pteranadon Capture from a couple years ago is a better set, and they both retailed for the price of $19.99. I think the number of Juniors sets in this wave is too great. I know that dinosaurs are very much a little kid thing; I myself used to be the kid who could recite names of dinosaurs on queue. It's okay as far as a Juniors set goes. The Pteranadon is just a re-release, the helicopter build is pretty generic and the Minifigures are generic as well.
While I'm on the subject of LEGO Juniors, the other set Raptor Rescue Truck is pretty meh as well. This $24.99 set is blocky and unsightly. The raptor has significantly less detail than the other raptors in this theme. I probably shouldn't go too hard on this set, since the intended audience is 1/3 my age.
However, I won't bash all of the LEGO Jurassic World sets intended for little kids. The LEGO Duplo set Gentle Giants Petting Zoo is fantastic. The dinos are just too adorable. The Gray figure is cute as well. I must get this, for my sister of course...
Okay, let's move on to the normal LEGO System sets. The Pteranadon Chase is a pretty fun looking set, but this too lacks in design. The premise for play is great; you drive around, and you try to capture the Pteranadon with the net launcher. The Pteranadon is exclusive to this set and this is currently the cheapest way to get the new Owen. The Yellow net launcher sticks out like a sore thumb on the model. I think this will be popular with kids, but it isn't too great.
The Stygimoloch Breakout seems to be a good set. The Stygimoloch is fantastic: I love the design. It is good to get Dr. Wu in another set, and the cage does't look too bad. I think that the price point of $29.99 is a bit high, but I think this one will sell well.
The last set to be revealed by Mashable is the Carnotaurus Gyrosphere escape. I would say the price of $79.99 is a bit steep, but the volume of what you get is admirable. The Unimog seems to be a re-skin of the Raptor Rampage set. I like the dilapidated Gyrosphere launcher. The Carnotaurus steals the show, however; I think it looks amazing. The Carnotaurus is probably the main reason to pick up this set. There is a baby dino in the set as well; it seems to be a baby T-rex, but I may be wrong. The Owen figure is exclusive to this set, as is Franklin. The new Claire figure looks great as well.
I also found an image of the Indoraptor Rampage at Lockwood Estate set while browsing Brickset.com. I think this set looks pretty good. The facade is well detailed and I really like the triceratops skull. The Indoraptor looks amazing. This dino looks truely terrifing, like something out of Dino 2010/Dino Attack. I bet this set retails for $129.99, a high, but not unreasonable price.
I think that this wave has a couple stand out sets, but others are pretty weak. This wave will probably do really well, and I hope that LEGO will continue to release these sets in the future.
Anyways, that's all for now.
Thanks for reading!
